Mother's Day is always special. I spend it with my daughter. We catch up on shopping, go out for lunch and generally enjoy each other. I don't know a better way to spend the day.
But this year we were treated by a special surprise, not once but twice.
How often do marketers miss the boat? They spend hundreds of dollars trying to gain new customers and to get present customers to spend more. They spend thousands of dollars advertising and they fail to pay attention to the little things.
One flower to mark a special day costs next to nothing…but the impact is huge. Granted, we go shopping and to lunch at these places frequently because both establishments already deliver quality products and outstanding service. But that simple flower said "We value you as customers." They were not necessary. No one would have missed them had they not received one. But you can bet that we will always remember the simple token of appreciation they represent.
We, as customers, appreciate the little things much more than we do all the high priced advertising.
