If you’re looking for a different activity to get your heart racing and make a difference, consider joining the SkyRise Chicago at Willis Tower (Sears Tower) here in Chicago.
To Participate
This event is not for the faint of heart. Your task, if you choose to accept it, is to climb the 180 floors (2,340 steps) to the Willis Tower Sky Deck. If that sounds like a lot, don’t worry. You don’t need to run up like the elites do. There are options for those who might need to participate without using the stairs. Last year, more than 2,500 took the challenge. Participants ranged from 6-years to more than 60-years of age and older.
Why? Because they could! (You can, too!)…
And, because their effort helps support the work of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago which has been ranked the #1 Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation hospital in U.S. News and World Reports 2011-12. To learn more about the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and its work, click here.
If you want to participate in this event you have a number of options. You can get more information and sign up to do the climb at http://ric.convio.net/site/PageServer?pagename=event_information. While it is possible to sign up even up to the day of the event, you will probably want to sign up before October 1.
To Sponsor A Go-Getter
If you can’t actively participate, there’s still opportunity for you.
There are lots of participants who want to contribute their legwork but need sponsors to help with the donation for this fundraiser. Climbers typically look to outsiders to support their efforts with donations to reach their $100 fundraising minimum.Tax Free Donations can be as small as $5 or $10 with no upper limit. Working as a team, you and your participant can make a significant difference in this fundraising event. Here’s one participant who would welcome your support. You can donate directly to the cause in her name. http://ric.convio.net/site/TR?px=1108632&fr_id=1050&pg=personal
