Easter came early this year and took parts of Chicago by surprise.
Scattered throughout the city are piles of dirty snow that remind us that winter is not entirely a thing of the past.
But don’t let that deter you from enjoying this glorious day. The sun is shining and with temps above 50 degrees it’s a perfect day to get outside and enjoy. If you look closely you’ll see robins and squirrels and even tiny clumps of spring flowers like the one we found just steps away from the this ugly remnant of winter.
These images gave us pause to think. It’s so easy to be caught up short by sights
around us. We can focus on the ugliness of dirty snow which has a way of dampening our spirits. But no matter.
For every discouraging experience there’s an equally stunning bit of beauty if you just look. Just a few steps beyond this remnant of winter we came across the most delightful snowdrops heralding the beginning of a new season.
Nature gives us both. It’s up to us to choose what we will allow to influence our lives.
We wish you a very happy Easter.
