Busy…busy…

Change without fear. We can get where we’re going.

It's been a good while since I've posted. No excuses.

A lot has been happening on all fronts and sometimes it makes more sense to just do what needs to be done rather than talking about it. We now have a new president who's dealing with lots of challenges.

We've got an economy that has pert near everyone I know in a quandary. And, we each have personal challenges just living from day to day. Finally, we're past the terrorist-focused mentality that's held us in its grips since 2001.

Those of us who have crossed this bridge can now start looking forward again. We can finally start working toward positive change.

Now, all we have to remember is FDR's wise reminder that "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself" and Isaac Asimov's sage observation that "The only constant is change…" We're all working to get to a better place than we are today. Nothing happens overnight. There are no magic bullets.

President Obama recently equated his task to that of turning an ocean liner around…making small corrections in direction until finally the ship can move forward in the right direction.

I think this is great advice for all of us, no matter what the challenges we face. We can't expect to just whip around and start in a new direction (even though entrepreneurs tend to be very much more able to do that than most).

Real lasting change takes place in small steps…baby steps taken one at a time… little by little. There will always be resistance and a learning curve to deal with. It's basic. We grow up and grow old this way. In fact every living entity does the same thing. Life is change. The question becomes what changes do we choose to make to get us where we're going.

We can get where we're going on all levels if we remember that even the smallest change can bring about significant results… if we're persistent, patient and consistent.
