Chicago Autumn in Small Spaces

It’s always fun to go to the forest preserves in the fall, to gather pine cones and fallen acorns and to gather sAutumn Scene in Chicagoome of the move colorful leaves you can imagine. These can be used to create delightful centerpieces. But when you can’t get out to a forest preserve, autumn is still close at hand. Even in the smallest spaces. Here is a spectacular tree in the corner of a highrise. It makes a pleasant contrast nestled in the corner while the wild grasses, just steps away sway in the breeze that whips past it.

Temps are dipping (although today it’s sunny and relatively warm). I keep reminding myself that in March these temperatures would feel downright balmy even though my bones just don’t seem to get the message.

Nevertheless, let’s enjoy the beauty of the season and the relatively mild weather we still have at the moment. Chicago gets very, very cold come January and February, and these memories will go far in keeping our spirits warm.
